Peter, Peter, pumpkin-eater,
Had a wife and couldn’t keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell,
And there he kept her very well.
A man named Peter who liked to eat pumpkins had a wife, but she got a divorce. So he falsely imprisoned her in a pumpkin shell for a long period of time.
