The 100-Word Article

By Jesse Exum

I’m going to keep writing until I reach 100 words, not counting the title or “By Jesse Exum.” I wonder how many words I’ve written so far? Let’s see...29 words! I’d better count them again to make sure...Huh? Now there are 39! Okay, I’ll count them a third time...What the heck? This time I counted 51 words! What’s going on here?! I’m going to count one last time, and if there are any more words than the last time I counted, I’m not going to keep writing this! I’ll count now...94 words! That’s it, I’m stopping!

"Sound"

By Elaine Leighton

Listen to the sound
Of the music of the hills
They call out with the
Sighing voice of Ages

Play, play the music
This is the heart of your land
Play with finger light and quick
The heart beat of the land

Such happy strains of music
That does befall our ears
Singing the deeds of heroes
Gone and past

Dance with your music
Salute with your ale
Do a 180 on that slim rail

Way-Cool Websites

Homestarrunner.com
By Phil Vigil
There are many Flash-based websites, but one stands out more than the others. Homestarrunner.com is the funniest and most clever Flash animation site. Mike Chapman and Craig Zobel created Homestar Runner when they were in college in 1996. The website didn't really take off until the summer of 2001, when they created Strong Bad e-mails (Strong Bad is one of the many interesting characters on the site.) Homestar Runner now has a huge fan base consisting of mainly college age students and young adults. After watching some of the short cartoons, you will be an instant fan of all the characters. When you first go to the site, be sure to click "characters". This introduces all the different characters that are a part of Homestarrunner.com. Also check out "sb emails" where Strong Bad will answer your questions. Even if you have a slow connection, Flash animation loads fairly quickly. You can go to the site here: Homestarrunner.com
